Twilight of the Gods is the tenth studio album by the Swedish black metal band Bathory. Released in 1991, it is considered one of the band's finest works and a landmark in the history of black metal.

The album opens with "Prologue/Twilight of the Gods," a majestic and epic track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The song features a mix of acoustic guitars, keyboards, and choirs, as well as the trademark growling vocals of Quorthon, the band's founder and main songwriter.

The rest of the album follows a similar pattern, with epic and atmospheric tracks like "Through Blood by Thunder," "Blood and Iron," and "Hammerheart." The songs are characterized by their complex arrangements, powerful melodies, and dark and mystical lyrics.

One of the highlights of the album is the eight-minute-long "Valhalla," which tells the story of the Norse gods and their epic battles. The song features a mix of acoustic and electric guitars, as well as a choir and a spoken-word section that adds to the epic feel of the track.

Comes with bilingual English/Korean lyric/info sheet and cover. The actual vinyl is housed in an inner sleeve with King Record Co. Ltd logo.
The only flaw of this release is the printing quality, even though the cardboard quality of the sleeve is very good, the reproduction is not up to par, so the entire run suffers from print noise.

About Bathory

Bathory was an extreme metal band from Vällingby, Sweden founded on 16th March 1983, and named after the serial killer Countess Báthory from the Hungarian noble family. Fronted by with a string of session players in the 1980s who usually only lasted one album. Bathory is often cited as the pioneer of black metal based on the first four albums, and later viking metal in the end of the 1980s. All original songs were written by , and only some of the later albums were recorded as a one-man band, namely , , and . stated that he used Satanic imagery for entertainment in the music, and he was known to criticize Christianity or other religions as hocus-pocus. Many prominent bands in black metal and viking metal mention Bathory as a big influence. Bathory ended with 's unexpected death on 6th June 2004.

Thanks for taking a piss on this album by putting ad's in (not between songs) 30 seconds after a new song starts.. Ad!.. way to ruin the song build up. ... I own all the bathory cds and I was craving this album bad because my cd player is broken. :( also the Ad's are louder then the music

Ich höre Bathory heute zum erstenmal,einfach überwältigend. Man kann Wind,Wasser und Wald förmlich sehen,wenn man die Augen schließt.
Und irgendwie muß ich immer an die nordischen Sagen denken,die alten Götter und die Krieger,die sie verehrten.
